African American Studies
The African Studies course is an extension of our Social Studies Class. The course introduces students to the cultural, culinary, linguistic and music history of South African countries. Scholars learn about the rich African history and facts that are not taught in public schools. Scholars are encouraged to embrace a history that is their own and challenged to research their lineage.
Physical Education
PE plays a crucial role in the social and emotional development of students. Team sports and group activities teach important life skills such as teamwork, cooperation, leadership, and communication. Students learn to handle competition and adversity, developing resilience and a positive attitude towards challenges.
Additionally, physical education provides an outlet for stress relief, which is particularly beneficial in the high-pressure environment of modern schooling. The endorphins released during physical activity can improve your mood and mental health, contributing to overall emotional stability.
The discipline and goal-setting skills learned in sports can translate to better study habits and time management. In essence, physical education is not just about developing the body; it is an integral part of nurturing a well-rounded, healthy, and capable individual. By instilling these values early on, PE ensures that students carry the benefits of physical activity into adulthood, leading to healthier and more fulfilling lives.
Biblical Principles
All students participate in bible study. A scripture is highlighted weekly to extract thoughts, and we allow students to engage in an open discussion about the contents. We strive to educate children about how they can build their spiritual health in Jesus. Scholars are taught biblical principals and encouraged to live a life that is pleasing to Christ.
